Many people are never taught to pay attention to details, and therefore, in order to be good at what they do they need to learn how to increase attention to details.
Details are those little things that many people wind up forgetting. You'll find that many great organizers create lists, create reminders, and think of all the details. This is why they're so valuable in the workplace, in community groups, and in volunteer groups. Organization and details go hand in hand.
In order to be a great organizer you're going to have to learn to pay attention to the details. The small details is what makes a project goes smoothly. In other words, forgetting paper on the way to a meeting is not going to help you out much. Attention to detail such as remembering a notebook to jot down details that are mentioned in the meeting is vital.
If you have problems with details, it's time to start making a list. At first, you're going to bring up a blank when it comes to making a detailed list of a project. But as you practice, especially if you give yourself enough time, you'll get better.
So sit down with a pen and paper, shut the world off around you, (this means no phone, conversation, or anything else) and go through the project completely in your head. As you go through the project, the details will appear, be sure to jot them down. In this way you're increasing your attention to the details of the project.
It's not difficult to be detail oriented, but it does take giving yourself enough time to go through the project to find the details. And whatever you do, don't forget your notebook and pen otherwise, you can't jot down the details.
