How to Relax and Enjoy Driving

How to Relax and Enjoy Driving

Most people that I meet seem to have driving. Whether it's driving to work every day or driving a long distance when they're going on holiday, they all seem to despise the actual driving. I understand how taking the same route every day to work could be monotonous, so why not mix it up and go a different way every once in a while? Small changes like this in a solid routine can really keep things fresh and exciting.

I noticed that when I'm in my car I tend to be at ease the most when I am totally in the moment and focussing on exactly what I am doing - and nothing else. I find that if I'm thinking about the destination that I'm travelling to, how long the journey is taking or what I'm going to do when I get there I tend to get very restless and frustrated. Driving is a good time to come up with ideas and to think about things, and your mind needs to be focussed and ready without ever really having anything solid to focus on (just like when you're showering).

When I'm in my car I like to think about various projects that I'm working on, and how I can get to the next stages with them and how I can make things more efficient. If all else fails, why not just take the time to appreciate the magnificent world around you, and take the time to look at the scenery through your car's windscreen.
