Increase Your Metabolism Watching TV

I guess one could say that I am an avid hobbyist, and my all time favorite hobby is the art of couch sitting. To be more specific, I was a master at the art of television watching and when I got married, I discovered that that was not necessarily a good thing. Once I gained a wife, and later two children I never had time to squeeze in much of a workout between my job, my family, and my all-time love of the television and as I got older that took a toll on my body and my metabolism.

The human body is very much like a machine, and as we get older it takes more energy to make our bodily processes run smoothly. Metabolism is the process of turning the food we eat into the energy our bodies need to get through the day and as we get older, our metabolisms get older as well and it begins to show if you don't do something about it. Needless to say, my couch-sitting, television-watching hobby wasn't helping to boost my metabolism at all and boy was the wife upset about it.

Just because she can work a full time job and raise two kids while volunteering on the PTA and still manage to squeeze in an thirty minutes of cardio and thirty minutes of strength training is beyond me, and I understood that she was concerned about my health and well being, but I wasn't trying to listen to her nagging me, so I knew I would have to do something about it.

I would like to say that I gave up on my couch-sitting, television-watching habits but that is just not the truth, but I did manage to find a little more time put some research into how I could increase my metabolism and get some more useful energy.

While I can't reveal all of the secrets of how to increase your metabolism while watching television, there are a few tricks that I can reveal that can help any person boost their metabolism without ever having to hit the gym, and these are all things that seem to fit in well in between a television-watching hobby, a full time job, a family and any other obligations.

First off, I started eating breakfast. Don't think you can lose weight by skipping breakfast, because fueling your body in the morning can help to increase your metabolism. Don't starve yourself, either because the body needs at least 1200 calories a day to properly metabolize food and try to eat as early in the day as you can. Skipping meals is one of the worst things you can do to your metabolism.

As you get older, you will be less and less able to eat whatever you want to, and sitting around watching TV all day is not the best way to go about increasing your metabolism, or is it? If you want to be let in on the real deal and get some real-life advice on how to increase your metabolism while watching TV now is the time.
